Business simulation Jurassic World Evolution gets a release date
If you think of a dinosaur-related video game you might picture an action adventure or a first-person shooter. It is unlikely the term “business simulation” will be the first thought to cross your mind. However, Cambridge-based game company Frontier Development has gone with that choice of genre for Jurassic World Evolution.
The pre-order trailer for Jurassic World Evolution shows some extremely impressive footage and a small glimpse of actual gameplay, as buildings and fences are constructed to create a new park. Naturally, players will have to deal with rampaging dinosaurs at some point and will also have to cope with other natural disasters and no doubt a lot of human error. There will be 30 different dinosaur types available at launch time, and the player gets to listen to Jeff Goldblum’s narration along the way – adding to the overall majestic Jurassic Park feel of the game.
The game is available for pre-order through Steam, PSN, Xbox Live and the Frontier store. Players who opt for pre-ordering the title will receive a platform exclusive helicopter skin and ranger vehicle skin. The dinosaurs will be coming online on June 12, with the physical release coming on July 3.
