The Xperia XZ1 Compact was the only true compact flagship of 2017. The device launched with an MSRP of US$600 but is currently available for just US$399.99. Not a bad deal for a last-gen flagship with excellent cameras, Android Oreo, and a headphone jack.

Sony launched the Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact way ahead of time this year. The Japanese OEM had taken to launching the pair of devices at IFA in August but broke that trend this time out, releasing the devices a few weeks ago at MWC. That, of course, comes with an enticing consequence—deals for the last-gen XZ1 and XZ1 Compact.

The device on offer right now is the XZ1 Compact, predecessor to the newly launched XZ2 Compact. The device is currently available on Best Buy for just US$399.99, which is a pretty good deal for a device running on a Snapdragon 835. It features the same camera specifications as the larger XZ1, and is an all-round impressive smartphone.

This deal will likely appeal to lovers of smaller sized smartphones—the XZ1 Compact clocks in at a pint-sized 4.7 inches. It’s also much sleeker than the new XZ2 Compact, features the 3.5mm headphone jack missing on its successor, and comes in the traditional 16:9 display ratio.
