Many games are expected to be released by the end of 2025, delighting gamers around the world. But a game combining Death Stranding 2 and Red Dead Redemption 2 has unveiled a striking trailer and is also set to be released in the third quarter of this year.
Called Windstrom: The Legend of Khiimori, this game, currently in alpha, is played in third person in 13th-century Mongolia. Like the two excellent games in the Death Stranding series, you will have to complete missions and deliver various items, such as medicine, across this vast, wild, and hostile territory. There are many environments to traverse, allowing you to discover a variety of landscapes, from dense forests to plains stretching as far as the eye can see.
And that's not all, because you won't be alone in this endeavor. You will be accompanied by a faithful horse throughout your adventure. It's worth noting that your relationship with this animal will be very important, as in Red Dead Redemption 2, as can be seen in the video description: "Bond with your horse and tame the open wilds. Breed and train horses with specialized abilities to explore every aspect of this diverse and fascinating landscape." In addition, in an interview conducted four months ago, the team could be seen working closely with horses in order to get as close to reality as possible.
Furthermore, although it has not yet been released, Windstrom: The Legend of Khiimori is already enjoying immense popularity. According to SteamDB, more than 12,000 people are following it, and more than 100,000 people have added it to their wish lists. Other factors also point to the anticipation surrounding this release, such as the Kickstarter fundraising campaign, which has exceeded $500,000, while the initial budget was $60,000.
Finally, it should be noted that this game will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and Nintendo Switch 2. So, if you loved Death Stranding, Red Dead Redemption 2, or the great outdoors, this game seems tailor-made for you.
