The OnePlus Watch 2 has been available for more than a year and already even has a successor in the form of the OnePlus Watch 3. However, with a current limited-time discount on Amazon, last year's model seems worth buying over the newer watch.

The OnePlus Watch 3 recently received a permanent price cut that brings it much closer to its launch price. While there's a lot to like about the new OnePlus smartwatch, last year's OnePlus Watch 2 is still worth buying, especially now that it is on sale.

Amazon currently has the OnePlus Watch 2 for $209.99 (Radiant Steel color only), 30% off its launch price of $299.99. The first time the smartwatch was available for this low was nearly a year ago, and it still makes for a good buy now when compared to the OnePlus Watch 3 which costs $349.99.

The OnePlus Watch 2 is one of the best WearOS smartwatches with respect to battery life. Its battery provides up to 100 hours of use in smart mode and up to 12 days of use in power saver mode. The OnePlus Watch 3 takes that to 120 hours and 16 days respectively thanks to having a larger battery capacity.

Another key difference between the two watches is the larger and brighter display on the OnePlus Watch 3, although both watches have a 46mm case. The OnePlus Watch 3 also has a rotating digital crown that can be used to scroll in apps and menus, unlike that of the Watch 2 which is just a button.

The OnePlus Watch 2 also doesn't have an EKG sensor and a temperature sensor, although the former isn't available in the Watch 3 models sold in North America. The OnePlus Watch 2 also can't measure vascular health like its successor. However, features such as monitoring of heart rate, sleep, and stress are common to the two watches.

The two smartwatches have a unique Dual-Engine Architecture that allows for two processors (Snapdragon W5 and BES 2800) and two operating systems (WearOS and RTOS). They also both have 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, an IP68 dust and water resistance, and an MIL-STD-810H certification.

At its current discounted price, the OnePlus Watch 2 costs $140 less than the OnePlus Watch 3, while not missing out on too many features.
