Lenovo's business laptop lineup has been expanded with the so-called ThinkPad X9, which currently consists of a 14-inch and 15-inch model and carries relatively lofty price tags. Since Lenovo itself is only offering miniscule discounts for these new notebooks at the time of writing, ThinkPad fans may want to check out a deal from another online retailer.
Specifically, CDW is currently selling the Lenovo ThinkPad X9 14 Aura Edition with the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V and soldered 32GB LPDDR5x memory for $1,339 plus shipping. This is certainly much more reasonable than the $1,622 that Lenovo currently charges for a similar configuration at its official online store. On top of the 17% discount, this offer includes a larger SSD with 1TB instead of 512GB of storage capacity.
This model variant of the 14-inch ThinkPad X9 further sports the base OLED panel with 1920 x 1200 pixels, 400 nits of brightness and a 60Hz refresh rate. In our comprehensive review, we praised the matte display's color reproduction, but it should be noted that some IPS-equipped competitors can hit a higher peak brightness.
Additionally, new owners can look forward to a sleek chassis made of metal and long battery life of 14 hours. That being said, Lenovo's OLED laptop has a poor webcam and gets pretty loud under load, which might be one of the biggest caveats in comparison to rivaling machines like the MacBook Air. Even though the ThinkPad X9 14 does not necessarily look similar to other iconic business machines made by the Chinese company, it can be a good choice for some buyers who like to work with Windows and appreciate decent input devices.
