The GeForce RTX 5060 laptop variant has shown up on Geekbench. In the OpenCL benchmark, it outperforms the RTX 4060 laptop GPU by up to 18%.

While most of Nvidia's GeForce RTX 50 series desktop graphics cards are out and about, the same can't be said for their laptop counterparts. For now, only the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 are available, and only just in a handful of high-end laptops. A new Geekbench listing gives us our first glimpse at the RTX 5060 laptop GPU, and things looks less than stellar.

The graphics adapter apparently powers Colorful laptops with wildly different configurations, one with an Intel Core i9-13900HX and the other with a Core Ultra 9 285H. Alongside the former, the RTX 5060 laptop GPU scores 109,431 in Geekbench's OpenCL test, but the score drops to 102,564 with the latter. Both SKUs have 32 GB of DDR5 RAM running at marginally different speeds.

According to our benchmark database, the RTX 4060 laptop GPU averages at around 93,132 points in Geekbench OpenCL, effectively making the laptop RTX 5060 up to 18% faster. While Geekbench isn't an ideal test for GPUs, it gives us a ballpark figure for performance improvements. One can attribute this to the slightly increased CUDA core count (3,328 vs 3,072), and a boost clock of 2.5 GHz.

Incidentally, neither RTX 5060 sample mentioned above hits the 2.5 GHz figure, so the actual gains could be a bit higher at launch. That, combined with gains from the Ada Lovelace architecture, GDDR7 VRAM and AI-powered trickery, should make the laptop RTX 5060 an attractive upgrade for someone coming from the RTX 20/30 series.
