The Mi 9T is now receiving the Android 11 update globally but MIUI 12.5 remains elusive
Xiaomi's Android 11 rollout continues. The company has slowly sent out the Android 11 update to a number of its phones including the Mi 10T and Mi Note 10 lineups. The next device on the list is the Mi 9T, Xiaomi's vaunted flagship killer which was released in late 2019.
The update for the Mi 9T bears the build designation "MIUI 12.1.2.0 RFJMIXM". That denotes the fact that it's for the global model of the Mi 9T in particular. Owners of the European model will have to wait a while longer. The OTA weighs in at a hefty 2.4 GB, no surprise since it's an Android version upgrade. It's a stable beta build, so will only be sent out randomly pending a full rollout.
Interestingly, as the build number specifies, this isn't a MIUI 12.5 update. That makes sense, as Xiaomi has essentially only sent out the MIUI 12.5 update to devices already running Android 11. Either way, we expect the Mi 9T to receive its MIUI 12.5 sometime in the near future.
