LG does a lot right with the current generation of the 14-inch Gram as our review shows. The LG Gram 14Z90P with the model number G.AA79G is once again an extremely enduring subnotebook that is even able to outperform its predecessor, the LG Gram 14Z90N, in terms of battery life. The device can't be beaten in this respect.

The new Gram 14Z90P also retains the compact and elegant case, and it weighs just under one kilogram again. This makes the device the ideal companion for travel and extended workdays where you're far away from a power outlet. That is the theory, at least, because especially when working outdoors, the very reflective display quickly spoils the experience.

Apart from this point of criticism, LG has optimized several of the predecessor's weak points. Besides a revised keyboard, this is especially true for performance. Thanks to the recent i7-1165G7 Tiger Lake CPU including Iris Xe G7 96EUs graphics that LG has combined with 16 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and a fast 1 TB SSD, the new LG Gram 14Z90P achieves significantly better scores in the various benchmarks. Naturally, this still isn't sufficient for a gaming machine. But you can play the occasional game in lower graphics settings on the subnotebook. For everyday tasks like office applications, web browsing, and streaming, performance is definitely good enough.

The connectivity of the new 14-inch Gram is also impressive considering its compact dimensions. Two USB-C ports including DisplayPort and Thunderbolt 4, two USB-A ports, an HDMI output, a microSD card reader, and an audio jack should be enough for most users.

Overall, the new LG Gram 14Z90P is once again extremely enduring compared to last year's version, and it has also been considerably improved in some areas. As a result, it's a proper recommendation for anyone who needs solid performance in addition to endurance. More information as well as detailed test results and benchmarks can be found in our review of the LG Gram 14Z90P.

I have been fascinated by technology for around 25 years – especially technology that makes life easier rather than more complicated. Mobile devices such as laptops, smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches are particularly close to my heart as is the booming subject of smart homes. I have been working in these areas for several years now as a news and reviews editor. I have been active with various websites, including the smart home blogs homee, Nuki, and siio, as well as tech portals such as Giga and TechRadar. I have been writing news and laptop reviews for Notebookcheck since 2020.

I've been fascinated with technology ever since I got my very first Android smartphone, which was quite a while ago. The power packed into such a small footprint still amazes me. Learning to program made my understanding of technology deeper, and at the same time, it expanded my interest to the area of desktop computers and laptops. All this led me to enjoy reading and watching reviews of new devices, and that's how I stumbled upon Notebookcheck. I immediately found their reviews to be very comprehensive, and luckily, I've even had the chance of translating them since 2019. When it comes to the huge field of technology, I'm currently also interested in specializing in Java programming.
