The Honor Tab V7 Pro launches with a new MediaTek processor and up to 8GB of RAM
Honor has introduced the first of the new MediaTek Kompanio line along with its new Tab V7 Pro today (August 12, 2021). The 1300T powers a tablet now revealed to have an 11-inch display with a 2560x1600 resolution and an up-to-date aspect-ratio, even if its bezels could be a little thinner.
Honor also asserts that the V7 Pro's panel covers the DCI-P3 color gamut and has official TÜV FullCare 2.0 ratings for user eye safety. The tablet runs Magic UI 5 optimized for tablets, which means advanced split-screen modes, easy cross-device transfer features and an oddly familiar dual app dock.
The V7 Pro's new chipset also confers Wi-Fi 6 and 5G connectivity on the V7 Pro, although the latter is only present in its top-end SKU. The tablet also supports Bluetooth 5.1 and USB type-C, rated to charge the slate's 7,250mAh battery at 22.5W.
Honor has also confirmed that it has prepared a first-party "Floating" keyboard dock for the V7 Pro, so called as its hinge has been custom-designed to support the tablet at a wide range of viewing or typing angles. There is also a Magic Pencil 2, which has 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity and an up-to-15-hour battery that can slot into a silo built into the Floating Keyboard.
They are optional purchases for the Tab V7 Pro, and go for 799 yuan (~US$123) and 499 yuan (~$77) respectively. Similarly, their compatible tablet only has Chinese-market pricing thus far, and starts at 2,599 yuan (~$401) for a 6GB RAM/128 GB internal storage base model.
This rises to 2,799 yuan (~$432) or 3,299 yuan (~$509) for its Wi-Fi only 8GB RAM SKUs with 128GB or 256GB of storage respectively. The top-end 5G-capable option also has an 8/256 GB configuration, and goes for 3,699 yuan (~$571).
