Last week, Asus sent out the Android 10 update to its last-gen flagship phone, the Zenfone 5Z. We were a bit surprised about the release, since we expected the Zenfone 6 to get the update first. That has been sorted out now, however, as users of the Asus flagship are now confirming receipt of the Android 10 OTA.
While the Zenfone 5Z's update was a beta build, this is a full, stable update. Like most OS updates, it will likely be a staged rollout. Owners of the phone in India and the US are receiving the update, however, so we don't expect any significant delays before it reaches all users across the globe.
The update takes the OS from Android 9 to Android 10, and adds full gestures support. Like with most Asus OS updates, it's a very light download, coming in at a petite 809 MB. This makes Asus one of the first OEMs to send out the stable Android 10 update, alongside Xiaomi, OnePlus, and Essential.
We expect the Zenfone 5Z to get the stable update in the coming weeks.
