Asus has now joined the list of OEMs to send out an Android 10 build to their smartphones. The Taiwanese OEM is currently rolling out the Android 10-based ZenUI 6 beta build to users of last year's flagship, the Zenfone 5Z. The Zenfone 6's rollout is expected to follow soon.

The race towards Android 10 continues, and Asus is now the latest company to send out an Android 10 build to its users. Asus, a short while ago, began rolling out the Android 10-based ZenUI 6 beta build to owners of the Zenfone 5Z.

The Zenfone 5Z was last year's Asus flagship smartphone, and it's a bit surprising that this update isn't getting to the newer Zenfone 6 first. An early beta build was sent out to Zenfone 6 and Zenfone 5Z beta testers back in August, so we expect the Zenfone 6 to get its own public beta very soon.

Being a beta build, bugs are expected, and this release has its fair share of them. It comes with all regular Android 10 features including a system-wide dark mode and revised navigation gestures. There are also new ZenUI features like a native screen recorder and one-handed mode.

Users who want to try out the update can either wait for an OTA or download and install the file at the XDA link below. ZenUI is pretty close to stock Android and that shows, as the file weighs in as a petite 1.065 GB download.
