Samsung One UI 2 beta with Android 10 coming soon for Galaxy Note 10 users
Samsung has posted a notice on its Korean website announcing that its One UI 2 beta built on Android 10 is coming soon. The One UI 2 beta has been available for the Galaxy S10 range since the middle of October but only in select markets.
Samsung has not been one to deliver Android updates particularly quickly, but it looks like things are starting to change for the better. Its One UI 2 beta built atop Android 10 has already hit the Galaxy S10 range in select markets and Galaxy Note 10 users won’t have to wait much longer either, it seems. The Korean tech giant has posted notice on its website announcing that the One UI 2 beta for Note 10 users is “coming soon”.
Even though it appears that Samsung doesn’t necessarily intend to spread the One UI s betas far and wide, it is still a good sign that it is rolling them out even if it is targeted at a select audience. It managed to start its rollout for Android 9 Pie for its Galaxy S9 devices in January, so there is a reasonable chance that most Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 users will see a full update to One UI 2 before the end of the year.
The One UI 2 includes a number of UI refinements including minimally sized pop-up notifications so that your content isn’t overwhelmed by the interruption along with other similar UI overlays like the volume indicator bar. Also new is an enhanced Dark mode that intelligently adjusts the brightness of images, texts and colors while reducing battery consumption. You can also expect new Android 10-based features like the new Focus mode to make an appearance as well as its underlying system refinements.

I have been writing about consumer technology over the past ten years, previously with the former MacNN and Electronista, and now Notebookcheck since 2017. My first computer was an Apple ][c and this sparked a passion for Apple, but also technology in general. In the past decade, I’ve become increasingly platform agnostic and love to get my hands on and explore as much technology as I can get my hand on. Whether it is Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, Linux, Nintendo, Xbox, or PlayStation, each has plenty to offer and has given me great joy exploring them all. I was drawn to writing about tech because I love learning about the latest devices and also sharing whatever insights my experience can bring to the site and its readership.
