The DOOGEE S59 Pro was introduced via AliExpress as a rugged phone rated for an extra-large 10,050mAh battery capacity. The OEM asserts that it can last for up to 768 hours on standby, as well as for 18 hours of watching videos or playing games, or up to 50 hours of audio playback. Then again, with just 4GB of RAM and the MediaTek Helio P22 SoC, those might well be fair estimates.
The S59 Pro charges at 24 watts (W, or 12V/2A), which might reduce the time needed to replenish this battery to some degree. Then again, its new Amazon page still makes no mention of potentially useful features such as a power-bank function or reverse wireless charging.
This toughphone does have a second party trick, however, which is the ability to increase the output of its (single) rear-firing "loudspeaker" to a maximum of 2W, for a volume of up to 100 decibels (dB). This might indeed come in handy in certain situations. The S59 Pro does this thanks to a smart power amplifier IC and a Tonearm box.
Otherwise, the units sold through DOOGEE's new platform still run on Android 10, have fingerprint readers and support NFC. The S59 Pro costs US$230 on Amazon.com, or £220 on Amazon.co.uk. However, there are coupons for $20 or £20 off these prices on the respective pages for a limited time.
