DOOGEE announces the 10,000mAh-plus S59 Pro smartphone
DOOGEE often markets its phones as having advanced durability or "outdoors-y" features such as IP68 and IP69K ratings for ingress protection, and glove modes for their touchscreens. The S59 Pro has all of these, and a battery with a capacity on paper of just over 10,000mAh.
Its maker also claims to have packed a 2W (albeit apparently bottom-firing) speaker into this new rugged phone: the "loudest" available to smartphones, as it is apparently rated for up to 100 decibels (dB) of sound.
Then again, this is where the S59 Pro's particularly special features end: it is powered by the aging Helio P22 processor, has 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, expandable by microSD cards of up to 256GB in size.
It also has a 5.7-inch display (of indeterminate panel type) with a waterdrop notch and a sizeable bezel all around thanks to its robust design. In addition, DOOGEE does not mention how fast this ostensible super-battery phone can charge via its type C port, meaning it could spend a lot of time tethered to the wall to get it to 100%.
Consumers who might want to take the chance to find out can now pre-order this S59 Pro on AliExpress for US$200. However, the OEM has not specified when it will launch exactly, and its shipping could take up to 48 days according to its new sales platform. Alternatively, the OEM is running a competition by which 1 of 3 S59 Pros can be won on its website.
