The POCO F3 is the first POCO F series smartphone since the POCO F2 Pro, following Xiaomi's focus on the POCO M and POCO X series. The latest POCO F smartphone is another Redmi rebrand though, just as the POCO F2 Pro was last year. As expected, the POCO F3 is the global version of the Redmi K40 that Xiaomi unveiled earlier this year.
Hence, Xiaomi has borrowed the 6.67-inch AMOLED display from the Mi 11, which operates at 1080p and up to 120 Hz. The Samsung E4 panel peaks at 1,300 nits too. Additionally, the Redmi K40 has LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, with which Xiaomi has paired a Snapdragon 870 SoC. The Snapdragon 870 is effectively a Snapdragon 865 Plus by another name, so expect comparable CPU and GPU performance to the POCO F2 Pro.
Additionally, the POCO F3 has a 4,520 mAh battery that can be recharged at up to 33 W. Xiaomi has also equipped the POCO F3 with four cameras: a 20 MP front-facing sensor, a 48 MP primary sensor, an 8 MP ultra-wide and a 5 MP macro.
The POCO F3 will launch on March 27 for €299 with a choice between Arctic White, Night Black and Deep Ocean Blue. The entry-level model comes with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage and will go up to €349 after April 6. Likewise, Xiaomi will charge €349 for the model with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, before increasing this by €50 post April 6.
