Mi Band 6 joins Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra as main contenders for starring in Xiaomi's upcoming global Mega Launch event on March 29
The Xiaomi Mega Launch is coming on March 29 (19:30 GMT +8) and according to the firm “this is one launch you really better not miss”. Of course, Xiaomi is not shy about using hyperbole for any product launch, and there are quite a few devices in the pipeline that could be shown off to the world on that date. While the Mi Band 6 seems like a reasonable guess for being one of the stars of the show, other contenders have included the Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra smartphones, the Mi 11 Lite phone, and even the Mi Notebook Pro laptop.
It seems unlikely it will be the aforementioned laptop though, as Xiaomi has been teasing that device on its Chinese-language Weibo site, whereas this upcoming Mega Launch has been promoted on the company’s English-language global Twitter account. So the Mi Notebook Pro is likely to be a China-only release for the time being. The Mi 11 Lite has already been listed on some retail sites and both the Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra have been teased for some time now, so a trio of Mi 11 smartphones released at the same time would certainly constitute a Mega Launch.
There’s also the Xiaomi Mi Band 6, which by the looks of things is likely to receive an earlier calendar month release globally than 2020’s Mi Smart Band 5 (internationally launched in July). The fitness tracker has already appeared in a live image as part of EU-related documents, so there is a chance it will be the Mi Band 6/Mi Smart Band 6 that gets launched on March 29. Maybe Xiaomi will just amaze its millions of fans worldwide by releasing the expected new Mi 11 smartphone variants and its latest smart band all on the same day. As for an outsider bet – don’t put too much hope on seeing a Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 just yet, but there could be some surprises in store.
