MagyarSony outlines pricing, pre-order, release dates and updated game list for PlayStation VR 2 headset
Sony has provided pricing and release date details for PlayStation VR 2, under a month on from confirming similar information for the DualSense Edge wireless controller. Mirroring the DualSense Edge's road to market, Sony will start accepting PlayStation VR 2 pre-orders later this month. However, it will not start shipping units until early next year.
Specifically, pre-orders will open on November 15 in multiple markets. It is worth noting that you can already register to pre-order the PS VR2, for which Sony has opened a dedicated web portal. Unfortunately, the company's FAQ outlines that there is no guarantee that you will be able to pre-order the VR headset after you have registered or even invited to do so. Additionally, Sony will limit orders to one unit 'per PSN ID per household', supposedly because of 'limited quantites and high demand'. Worse still, it seems that the PS VR2 will only be pre-orderable if you live in a country to which the PlayStation Direct Store delivers.
If you meet those requirements, you will be able to pre-order the headset on November 15 for US$549.99 (€599.99/£529.99/JPY 74,980). For reference, these prices include tax for the Eurozone, Japan and the UK. Meanwhile, all pre-orders ship with the PS VR2 headset itself, as well as the PS VR2 Sense controllers and stereo headphones. Alternatively, Sony will sell the PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain bundle for US$599.99 (€649.99/£569.99/JPY 79,980), which adds a PlayStation Store voucher code for Horizon Call of the Mountain.
Meanwhile, Sony has priced the PS VR2 Sense controller charging station at US$49.99 (€49.99/£39.99/JPY 5,480), which allows you to recharge the headset's controllers without plugging them into your console's USB ports. Currently, Sony expects to begin shipping PS VR2 and accessory pre-orders on February 22, 2023. Separately, Sony confirmed that PS VR2 would support another 11 VR games from launch too, on top of the 15 that Sony revealed in September. The list of newly compatible games is as follows:
