The first game to support it was Resident Evil Requiem, which demonstrated how the new technology could improve image quality and performance on the console. Now, Sony has confirmed that the support is expanding to several more titles.
In a new announcement on the PlayStation Blog, the company revealed that the latest PS5 system software update brings expanded support for PSSR 2.0, and the following games can now take advantage of it:
- Silent Hill 2
- Silent Hill f
- Dragon Age: The Veilguard
- Control
- Alan Wake 2
- Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II
- Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
- Nioh 3
- Rise of the Ronin
- Dragon’s Dogma 2
Aside from these, Sony has confirmed that Crimson Desert will also support PSSR 2.0 on launch. On the other hand, Assassin's Creed Shadows and Cyberpunk 2077 will receive a patch in the coming weeks that will bring support for the upgraded PSSR.
According to Sony, the new PS5 system software update will start rolling out today, March 16, at 10 AM PT, but it will be released gradually in phases. This means some users may receive it later than others. Sony also recommends manually checking for the system update through the Settings menu if it does not show up automatically. But over the next few days, the update should reach all PS5 Pro users.
