Shuttle is no stranger to making capable mini PCs aimed at industrial and personal use. The XPC DL40N is among the latest from the brand, packing Intel's Twin Lake processors in a fanless 1.3-liter enclosure, ensuring quiet operation.
The XPC DL40N mini PC, as stated above, can be equipped with the Intel Processor N150, N250 and the Core i3-N350 chips with four, four, and eight cores respectively, all of which are Gracemont efficiency cores. As such, none of the chips support hyper-threading. The highest-end N350 chip maxes out at 3.9 GHz, whereas the N150 and N250 chips max out at 3.6 and 3.8 GHz. Performance should be pretty decent, with the N350 trading blows with the Core i5-11300H CPU in multi-core performance. The entry-level N150, on the other hand, is substantially slower (-40%).
Needless to say, there is no option for internal discrete graphics. All of the chips do come with integrated graphics, which should be enough for basic graphical tasks and video output. The systems support up to 16 GB of DDR5-4800 memory and multiple storage options including M.2 PCIe Gen3 x2 and 2.5" SATA. As can be expected from a mini PC with a focus on industrial use, the XPC DL40N mini PC includes a plethora of connectivity options, including serial ports, which have been listed below.
- HDMI 2.0b, VGA, DisplayPort
- 8x USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports (4x front, 4x rear)
- Dual 2.5G LAN
- Dual COM ports (RS232/422/485, RS232)
Pricing details for the Shuttle XPC DL40N have not yet been shared in the launch document, which is not surprising for an industrial mini PC. Interested customers can reach out to Shuttle directly for pricing and order related queries.
Consumer-focussed alternative: Beelink S13 mini PC (currently $199 on Amazon).
