Minisforum has shared new details about the G1 and G1 Pro after teasing the pair earlier this year. To recap, the G1 and G1 Pro debuted in April at the Japan IT Week Tokyo Spring Show. Subsequently, the company then showcased both last month during IFA 2025 in Berlin.
Now, Minisforum has brought both mini-PCs to the Japan IT Week in Chiba. Seemingly, little separates the G1 and G1 Pro, just like the N5 and N5 Pro before them (curr. $1,019 on Amazon). Specifically, Minisforum has now confirmed that the pair will be available with the desktop version of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060, to which it assigns 145 W of the G1 and G1 Pro's 350 W built-in power supplies (PSU).
Additionally, both machines are compatible with up to 96 GB of DDR5-5200 RAM and 8 TB of PCIe 4.0 storage split between two M.2 2280 slots. As the photo below shows, Minisforum has adorned the rear of the G1 series with numerous ports, although five of these are video outputs.
Ultimately, the main difference lies in an AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX APU for the G1 and the Ryzen 9 8945HX for the G1 Pro. A pair of Dragon Range refresh APUs, only a 3% performance gap exists between the pair in our benchmarks. VideoCardz reports that Minisforum will release the G1 and G1 Pro 'at the end of November'. There is no word on pricing yet, though.
