Minix has a new, fairly compact computer system in the pipeline. Marketed as a mini-workstation, the Elite ER939-AI delivers enough performance to handle demanding workloads. It features an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395, which packs 16 cores, Radeon 8060S integrated graphics, and an NPU offering 50 TOPS – bringing the APU’s total AI performance to 126 TOPS. According to official specs, the system includes as many as eight RAM slots, which support up to 128 GB of LPDDR5 memory running at 8,000 MHz.
For data storage, the mini-workstation comes equipped with a 2 TB M.2 SSD and an additional slot for installing a second drive. Wireless connectivity is provided by an M.2 2230 network adapter with support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. The system also features a 2.5 Gbit/s Ethernet port for wired network connections.
Measuring just 205 x 192 x 70 mm (8.07 x 7.56 x 2.76 in), the Elite ER939-AI uses three individual fans for cooling. Besides an HDMI interface and a DisplayPort on the rear, two USB4 ports (one front-facing and one on the back) are available for video output to external displays. Other notable features include a memory card slot and a fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. Pricing and availability have yet to be announced.
