Noctua has partnered with Seasonic to release what both describe as an 'ultra-quiet' ATX power supply (PSU). Hot on the heels of the NF-A6x15 and associated splitter cable, the Prime TX-1600 Noctua Edition builds on an existing Seasonic PSU rather than serving as an entirely new unit.
For reference, the Noctua Edition updates the Prime TX-1600 (curr. $539.99 on Amazon), which debuted over two years ago. Incidentally, it seems that nothing about the Noctua Edition has changed since Noctua and Seasonic showcased the PSU during Computex 2024 in June. Thus, it adds to the Prime TX-1600 by swapping in an NF-A12x25 fan.
In a press release, Noctua states that it has complemented its popular case fan with a 'custom engineered fan grill'. Allegedly as a result, the Noctua Edition can run ~8-10dB(A) quieter than the standard Prime TX-1600. Please see Noctua's images below and its dedicated article for how these changes also impact airflow.
Moreover, the Prime TX-1600 Noctua Edition can handle up to 1600 W of load, for which Seasonic has included a pair of 12V-6x2 connectors. Added to that, the Noctua Edition meets ATX 3.1 specifications. The Prime TX-1600 Noctua Edition should be available from today for $569 and €499 in the Eurozone. Noctua warns that it could be a day or two before the PSU becomes orderable on some regional Amazon websites, though.
