A noted X leaker says AMD has no plans to increase the amount of 3D V-cache on its upcoming Ryzen 9000 X3D CPUs. They will be announced at CES 2025 and hit shelves later in January 2025.

Multiple rumours have zeroed in on a CES 2025 reveal for AMD's Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Ryzen 9 9900X3D, effectively rounding up the launch of high-end Zen 5 desktop CPUs. A previous rumour speculated both would come with a 3D V-cache tile on both CCDs. Apparently, that's not the case.

Noted X leaker @AnhPhuH says the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Ryzen 9 9900X3D will have the same L3 cache as their last-gen (Ryzen 7000) counterparts. While the lack of extra cache is disappointing, they will almost certainly get the reversed cache tile layout, allowing you to overclock your CPU. Ryzen 9 SKUs are usually more overclocker friendly than their Ryzen 7 counterparts, and this should also ideally apply to the X3D parts.

The leaker adds both CPUs will hit shelves by the end of January 2025. Last time, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D outperformed its Ryzen 9 counterparts. Has AMD done anything to remedy that with the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Ryzen 9 9900X3D? Only time will tell. Then again, Intel's less-than-stellar Arrow Lake-S launch means AMD is pretty much competing against itself this generation.
