Schenker unveils KEY 17 Pro mobile workstation with Intel i9-13900HX and up to an RTX 4090 dGPU
Schenker is launching its most powerful mobile workstation yet with the introduction of the new KEY 17 Pro model. A redesigned chassis that is almost completely made of aluminum ensures optimal performance for the high-end Intel Core i9-13900HX processor together with up to an RTX 4090 mobile dGPU.
The new KEY 17 Pro is one of the lightest and slimmest workstations around with a profile of 24.9 mm and 3.4 kg weight. A redesigned cooling solution now comes with large copper elements for the heat spreaders, which also optimally cool additional areas such as the VRAM, MOSFETs and the Intel HM770 PCH. With such an efficient cooler, the GPU can sustain maximum TGP loads of 175 W permanently.
By default, this model is equipped with a 17.3-inch 240 Hz 2560 x 1440 IPS panel, but there is also a 4K 144 Hz option, as well. Both panels are high quality, with more than 99% sRGB and DCI-P3 color coverage. Users can lower the refresh rate to 60 Hz. Additionally, the panels are Nvidia G-Sync compatible, plus there is a MUX switch and Advanced Optimus support.
Complementing the processor are two SO-DIMM slots supporting up to 64 GB of DDR5 RAM. Schenker specifies that the maximum speed for a single slot can be set to DDR5-5600, but the 64 GB configuration will only work with DDR5-5200 specs for now. Storage-wise, the KEY 17 Pro comes with three M.2 slots, of which one is PCIe 5.0 and two are PCIe 4.0.
Port selection includes 2x Thunderbolt 4, 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, HDMI 2.1 + miniDP 1.4 video outs, headphone and mic jacks, plus 2.5 GbE jack. Wireless connectivity is offered through an Intel Wi-Fi 6E + BT 5.2 card. There are other standard features like an FHD webcam, RGB full size keyboard, and a 99 Wh battery.
Availability for the new KEY 17 Pro workstations is set to late March 2023. As far as prices go, a base configuration with i9-13900HX, RTX 4080, 16 GB DDR5-5600 RAM, 500 GB Samsung 980 SSD and WQHD screen costs €3,399. The RTX 4090 upgrade costs €637 and the 4K display is €248. Schenker is offering a special €100 discount on any configuration until March 28.
