Samsung has started distributing a new update for the Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic, just under three weeks after Google Assistant arrived for the pair. Released as R8xxFXXU1FVE1, the update is approximately an 89 MB download. For reference, you can update your Galaxy Watch4 series smartwatch through the Galaxy Wearable app or on the smartwatch directly through the main settings menu.
While Samsung has opened its One UI Watch beta program to the Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic, this month's stable update is a minor one. Specifically, it merely brings the pair onto the June 2022 set of security patches. Although Samsung does not outline what changes this brings to the Galaxy Watch4 or Galaxy Watch4 Classic, Google has in its latest Android Security Bulletin.
Please note that some Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) are OS-specific. Hence, not all apply to the Galaxy Watch4 series, which relies on a version of Android 11, albeit packaged as Wear OS 3 and One UI Watch. As always, Samsung claims to have improved system stability and reliability with this month's update, although it has not confirmed how. R8xxFXXU1FVE1 is rolling out now globally and should be available on all Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic variants.
