Galaxy Watch5 Pro: Samsung's upcoming flagship smartwatch may disappoint Galaxy Watch4 Classic fans
Much has already been said about the Galaxy Watch5 series, despite there being no official confirmation from Samsung of its existence yet. As we have covered previously, there are signs that Samsung will release the Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Watch5 Pro, with the 'Classic' brand abandoned after one generation. Purportedly, Samsung may be moving away from the rotating bezel that sets the Galaxy Watch4 Classic apart from its contemporaries too.
Writing on Twitter, @UniverseIce remarked that the Galaxy Watch5 Pro might disappoint those who hope that Samsung will continue to include the hardware after the Galaxy Watch4 Classic. In fact, the leaker suggests that the Galaxy Watch5 Pro may not be a big upgrade from the Galaxy Watch4 series too. It remains to be seen what the Galaxy Watch5 Pro will bring to the Galaxy Watch series, although there are rumours that the smartwatch will launch with sapphire glass and a titanium chassis.
Still, the Galaxy Watch5 Pro could utilise Samsung's virtual bezel, which it already includes in the Galaxy Watch4. For reference, the Galaxy Watch Active2 also lacked a rotating bezel, so Samsung may return to its hardware-based solution in future. Incidentally, Samsung is expected to equip the Galaxy Watch5 Pro with a larger battery than the Galaxy Watch4 Classic, albeit with a smaller cell than the one found in the TicWatch Pro 3 series.
