More information about the Galaxy Watch5 series has emerged online ahead of Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event on August 10. On the one hand, @UniverseIce has outlined how long the Galaxy Watch5 Pro will last on a single charge, which will serve as a Galaxy Watch4 Classic replacement. However, Samsung is only expected to sell the Galaxy Watch5 Pro as a 46 mm smartwatch, unlike the Galaxy Watch4 Classic.
Purportedly, the Galaxy Watch5 Pro could achieve up to three days of battery life, a considerable improvement over the Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic. For context, the Galaxy Watch5 Pro is rumoured to feature a 572 mAh battery, up from the 361 mAh battery on which the 46 mm version of the Galaxy Watch4 Classic relies. Incidentally, Mobvoi has started teasing the TicWatch Pro 4, which promises to offer better battery life than the already excellent TicWatch Pro 3 series.
Meanwhile, DealNTech has discovered alleged European pricing for both Galaxy Watch5 series models. Embedded below, the pricing suggests that the Galaxy Watch5 will be €10 cheaper than the Galaxy Watch4, at least for Bluetooth models. In comparison, it seems that the Galaxy Watch5 Pro will be €30 more expensive than the larger Galaxy Watch4 Classic with Bluetooth connectivity.
While that does not represent much of an uplift from the Galaxy Watch4 Classic, Samsung is not expected to launch a 42 mm model. Hence, the Galaxy Watch5 Pro could be upwards of €60 pricier than the entry-level Galaxy Watch4 Classic. Samsung will reveal the Galaxy Watch5 series alongside the Galaxy Buds2 Pro, the Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold4.
