Reviews for the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge 16 X1E-84-100

81% Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge 16 laptop review - The fastest Snapdragon X Elite challenges AMD's Zen 5 | Notebookcheck
The Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge 16, which is currently the only laptop fitted with the fastest Snapdragon X Elite processor (X1E-84-100), has higher CPU core clock rates as well as a faster Adreno GPU. However, the slim Galaxy Book4 can only use its performance potential to a limited extent.
Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Edge review: This Copilot+ PC brings the heat
Source: Laptop Mag English
The Galaxy Book 4 Edge may be the fastest thin-and-light Windows laptop we've ever tested, which is an incredible feat. However, this is not enough to overcome the poor battery life and thermal performance. It simply doesn't have enough of a performance edge on the best AI PCs to justify its significantly lower battery life, and truly, you do not want to touch the bottom of this laptop when it's going all out. Again, there's more to like here than just the performance. The display is outstanding, the keyboard is fast, and if you're in the Samsung ecosystem, it melds seamlessly with your phone or tablet. But if you do opt for the Book 4 Edge, I strongly recommend the base model. It will unquestionably deliver longer battery life in exchange for a negligible dropoff in performance. If you're unsure if it's the right choice for you, then consider checking our best laptops page for our current top recommendations across numerous categories.

Qualcomm Adreno X1-85 4.6 TFLOPS: A relatively powerful integrated graphics adapter that two Snapdragon X Elite chips feature, as of Sep 2024. It has 1,536 unified shaders running at up to 1,500 MHz. The underlying architecture is reportedly in many respects the same as what was used in the Adreno 730. Performance-wise, the Qualcomm iGPU is almost as good as Intel's Arc 8 in many use cases, allowing the former to deliver playable experience in many 2023 and 2024 games such as Baldur's Gate 3 at 1080p on low graphics settings.

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

SD X Elite X1E-84-100: A pretty fast ARM architecture processor (SoC) for use in Windows laptops. As the second-fastest X Elite chip in September 2024, the X1E-84-100 has 12 Oryon CPU cores running at up to 4.2 GHz, along with the 4.6 TFLOPS Adreno X1-85 GPU, the 45 TOPS Hexagon NPU and an impressively fast LPDDR5x-8448 memory controller. USB 4.0, TB 4 and PCIe 4 support is onboard, too.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.
