Rumor: Apple iPhone 18 Pro phones could be in line for new, improved selfie cameras
Apple will release the iPhone 18 Pro phones later in the year as their most premium traditional smartphones. While current reports indicate the phones are unlikely to get any wholesale design changes, a new leak insinuates the phones may be in line for yet another selfie camera upgrade.
As shared by Chinese leaker WhyLab, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max could both be set to arrive with new 24 MP selfie snappers onboard. It's important to note, however, that the source doesn't frame this as concrete information; merely a distinct possibility. As such, we wouldn't place much stock in this claim, especially as all the iPhone 17 series phones already feature new 18 MP selfie shooters, upgraded from the 12 MP units on their predecessors.
While the prospects of a new selfie camera remain to be determined, the iPhone 18 Pro phones are all but certain to arrive with smaller Dynamic Island cut-outs. That may be disappointing considering earlier reports of an under-display setup or even a hole punch, but any potential design overhauls on that end will have to wait an extra year at least.
