Realme has released a flagship model to compete directly against the recently released Honor GT Pro. Starting at around $355, the Realme GT7 is significantly more affordable than the Honor GT Pro and the older Realme GT7 Pro. The company achieved this by cutting costs in the processor and camera departments. Rather than the Snapdragon 8 Elite, Realme has opted for the similarly powerful yet more budget-friendly MediaTek Dimensity 9400+, paired with up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of flash storage.
The Realme GT7 features a BOE Q10 AMOLED display, capable of delivering a full-screen brightness of 1,800 nits and an HDR peak brightness of 6,500 nits. The 6.8-inch 144 Hz panel offers a screen resolution of 2,800 x 1,280 pixels and a PWM frequency of 4,608 Hz to minimise visible flicker at low brightness levels. Furthermore, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner is seamlessly integrated into the display.
The 16 MP punch-hole selfie camera is centrally located at the top of the display, whilst the rectangular rear camera module houses a 50 MP f/1.8 main shooter with a 1/1.56-inch sensor, and an 8 MP f/2.0 ultrawide camera with a 1/4-inch sensor. However, the Realme GT7 lacks a telephoto lens. Protected within the IP69-rated waterproof chassis is a 7,200 mAh battery, which can charge at up to 100 watts via USB-C. Despite its impressive battery capacity, the smartphone remains relatively slim and light, measuring just 8.25 mm (0.32 in) thick and weighing 203 g (7.16 oz).
Price and availability
The Realme GT7 will launch first in China, with prices starting at ¥2,599 ($355) for the base model with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, and going all the way up to ¥3,799 ($520) for the top-tier variant with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage.
