Anbernic has finally confirmed the launch date and pricing of its next retro gaming handheld. To recap, the company shared a full unboxing video earlier this week around the same time as Russ from Retro Game Corps published a first impressions video.
Before that, there were rumours that Anbernic had dropped the price of the RG476H from its initial position of $174.99. Ultimately, the company has not clarified that the RG476H was ever intended to cost that much. Nonetheless, official pricing matches prior suggestions. Thus, the RG476H will start at $149.99 without a microSD card in a choice of Black, Indigo and Retro Grey colour options.
Alternatively, the RG476H will be available with 128 GB or 256 GB microSD cards for $15 and $30 surcharges, respectively. Anbernic's latest gaming handheld will be available to order from September 19 at 10:00 UTC on the company's website. However, these prices will rise by $15 to a $164.99 starting price on September 22 at 10:00 UTC.
In summary, the RG476H combines hardware from the RG Slide and RG557 (curr. $299 on Amazon) to create a relatively compact and premium-looking alternative to the forthcoming Ayaneo Pocket AIR Mini. As we have discussed previously, the RG476H contains a 4.7-inch, 960p and 120 Hz IPS display with a 4:3 aspect ratio. Moreover, Anbernic has included a Unisoc T820 chipset, 8 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and a 5,000 mAh battery. Please see Anbernic's website for more details.
