AyaNeo has just announced the Pocket S Mini - a smaller, dedicated 4:3 aspect ratio handheld gaming device in a pocketable form. Scheduled for release in March 2026, the Pocket S Mini expands on the capabilities of the larger Pocket S.
The original AyaNeo Pocket S (curr. $450 on Amazon with discount coupon), launched in 2024, and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 Gaming Platform, featuring an 8-core Kyro CPU and Adreno A32 GPU. It sports a 6-inch borderless IPS touchscreen available in 1080p or 1440p resolutions. Its build includes hall sensor joysticks, linear hall triggers, and advanced cooling technology configured for sustained 15W performance.
Compared to that, the new Pocket S Mini, as teased on the Retro Handhelds Discord server, reduces the screen size with a classic 4:3 aspect ratio. While promo hasn't confirmed the screen size, widespread community consensus suggests it is likely a 4.2-inch panel. AyaNeo has promoted its engineering around display technology - making extensive claims of custom screen panels for previous devices like the Pocket Air Mini. Given the similarities in design, it could well be that the Pocket S Mini shares the same custom panel, though this is still unconfirmed by official sources. As with the Pocket S, the Mini runs on the Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 chipset as well.
The Pocket S Mini will come in black and white color options with illuminated controls. In the promo material, AyaNeo describes the handheld with "Explosive Performance, Stunning Looks." Furthermore, a promotional bundle will give buyers of the Pocket Air Mini a 300 Yuan voucher for the Pocket S Mini. AyaNeo’s launch message dedicates the Pocket S Mini to users who "have spent half a lifetime pursuing a high-performance retro 4:3 handheld".
