“Your world is this office, and it's begging to be destroyed,” reads the Steam description of Rage Quit. This first-person action game throws players into a high-rise office with a distinct ’90s vibe – as the last human standing. The rest of the staff has been replaced by robots, endlessly reenacting office routines like gossiping and typing away on outdated keyboards.
The robots carry out their tasks with an unsettling, mechanical precision – until players break the routine with pure chaos. Armed with nothing but a sledgehammer, you’ll smash, dodge and deflect your way through the workplace. The hammer isn’t just a weapon; it’s also your tool for movement and defense, offering both light and heavy attacks. It’s all you need to take down wave after wave of bots.
Rage Quit was developed by a team of students and designed as a short 10-minute experience. That hasn’t stopped it from leaving a strong impression, though. Since its release on September 15, the game has already garnered 66 reviews on Steam – all of them positive.
In the Steam reviews, players praise the game’s satisfying, action-packed gameplay. Smashing robots, furniture and printers feels especially “crunchy” and fun, perfect for blowing off steam after a long day. The controls are described as intuitive, but only for QWERTY keyboard users. Players with AZERTY layouts report awkward handling, as there’s no simple way to remap keys. Replay value is limited, but since Rage Quit is completely free, most players are more than happy with the short yet entertaining experience.
