The MindsEye actor thought the game's failure would end his career

Released on June 10, 2025, MindsEye failed to achieve the expected success. It must be said that this game, rated 37 on Metacritic and with a user score of 2.4, is considered one of the worst games of the year. Faced with this situation, Alex Hernandez, the actor who plays Jacob Diaz, feared that it would spell the end of his career. 

Thus, it is in the latest episode of the FRVR podcast that he expressed himself on this subject, stating that he was afraid of being a curse for all the games he participated in: 

"I’m not a superstitious man… Do I have, like, the opposite of the golden touch? Like the shit-brown touch? Everything I touch turns to poop?"

As for MindsEye, the game's descent into hell led him to question his future, pointing out that players would associate his face with this failure and that it could ruin the rest of his career:

"I was like, ‘I might never work in a game again.’ One of the caveats of being the face on the box is that people rightly or wrongly will associate all of their opinions and, more importantly, their emotions, about this game with my face.”

It should be noted that Alex Hernandez previously played the role of Lincoln Clay in Mafia III, a game that also received a lot of criticism when it was released due to various bugs. However, no one knows what the future holds, and Alex Hernandez could be working on other projects that could be better than the disappointing MindsEye or Mafia III.
