Xbox Game Pass subscribers can look forward to a fresh lineup of games this September. Covering everything from strategy and shooters to RPGs, the update even includes two major AAA releases.

Between September 17 and 21, Microsoft is adding seven new titles to Xbox Game Pass. The lineup mixes indie favorites like the survival shooter Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor and the acclaimed action roguelite Hades with two major AAA releases: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Frostpunk 2. Subscribers will also get access to a game preview of Overthrown, a brand-new co-op city builder. Here’s a quick look at what’s coming to Game Pass:

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III - September 17 (console)

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III launched in November 2023 as a direct sequel to Modern Warfare II. Its campaign continues the story of Captain Price and Task Force 141 as they confront ultra-nationalist terrorist Vladimir Makarov. Alongside the cinematic single-player experience, the game includes the franchise’s signature multiplayer with classic maps, new modes and the fan-favorite Zombies co-op.

For the King II - September 17 (console)

For the King II is a turn-based roguelite RPG with tabletop-inspired gameplay, playable solo or in co-op with up to four players. Set once more in the kingdom of Fahrul – now ruled by a tyrannical queen – the game offers a procedurally generated world where players explore, fight enemies in tactical combat, gather gear and complete quests. Each run delivers new challenges and unexpected twists.

Overthrown - September 17 (Xbox Series X/S)

Overthrown is a chaotic co-op city builder where up to six players team up to build and manage a kingdom. Its unique twist is that almost anything can be lifted and thrown, while players also farm, gather resources and engage in anime-style battles – all under the shadow of a mysterious soul-stealing crown. Still in development, the game is currently available on Game Pass as a Game Preview.

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor - September 17 (PC, Cloud and Xbox Series X/S)

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is a survivor-style auto-shooter set in the Deep Rock Galactic universe. Unlike the original’s first-person co-op, this spin-off casts you as a lone dwarf from a top-down perspective, fighting off endless waves of alien creatures. Each run lets you mine resources, unlock new weapons and upgrades, and choose from classes like Gunner, Scout or Engineer. The goal is simple: survive as long as possible while facing the dangers of planet Hoxxes IV on your own.

Frostpunk 2 - September 18 (Cloud and Xbox Series X/S)

Frostpunk 2 is a city-building game set in a frozen, post-apocalyptic world. As the leader of New London, you must guide your people through a relentless struggle for survival. Beyond building infrastructure and securing resources, the core of the game lies in difficult choices – managing faction conflicts, facing moral dilemmas and deciding how far you’re willing to go to keep society alive.

Wobbly Life - September 18 (PC, Cloud and Xbox Series X/S)

Wobbly Life is a vibrant open-world physics sandbox for 1 to 4 players, playable online or in local co-op. You can take on quirky jobs, play mini-games and tackle wild story missions. Along the way, you’ll earn money to buy clothes, vehicles and houses, discover hidden secrets or simply enjoy the chaotic, interactive world at your own pace.

Hades - September 19 (PC, cloud and console)

Hades is a fast-paced action roguelike starring Zagreus, the rebellious son of Hades, determined to escape the underworld and reach Mount Olympus. Each run offers new challenges with randomly generated rooms, enemies and rewards. Along the way, you’ll receive powerful boons from the gods that shape your abilities and combat style. Death is inevitable, but progress carries over – unlocking new weapons, storylines and permanent upgrades.
