Polar has launched a beta version of its integration with TrainingPeaks. The connection between the Polar Flow and TrainingPeaks apps was announced last year with the arrival of the Vantage M3 smartwatch. This is the latest official integration from Polar, which already connects to Strava, komoot, adidas Running and others.
TrainingPeaks is a fitness app designed to help endurance athletes reach their goals. It is used by coaches and offers hundreds of pre-made workouts and training plans. The integration allows for these structured workouts and plans, as well as targets, to automatically sync between the app and Polar’s fitness wearables. This means that users of Polar sports watches can view these workouts on their wrist, with real-time guidance linked to metrics like heart rate zones or power.
Polar notes that users with five or more training zones in TrainingPeaks will see these intelligently mapped to its five-zone system. Once the workout is complete, the collected data is automatically transferred to the TrainingPeaks app for further analysis. The integration is offered to both basic and premium TrainingPeaks subscribers and is available for all Polar sports watches, including the Polar Vantage V and Polar Pacer watches (curr. from $220.22 at Amazon).
You can connect your Polar watch and TrainingPeaks via the Polar Flow app by going to Settings > Partners > Connect > TrainingPeaks. It is unclear when the beta testing phase of this TrainingPeaks and Polar integration will end; early users are asked to give feedback on their experience. Polar notes that future purchases of its sports watches will come with a 30-day free trial of TrainingPeaks Premium.
