Huawei is rolling out HarmoyOS 4.3 to Watch 4 Pro smartwatch users globally. Firmware 4.3.0.588(SP30C432E2R1P2) brings several workout-related features and improvements to the smartwatch.
With this update, Huawei has added a watch face to the Watch 4 Pro, Route Beam, showing your workout history and associated metrics. Activity rings have been improved, with a choice of four watch faces and further customization options for Time Combo. Runners can now analyze their form from their wrist, viewing metrics like ground contact time and vertical oscillation. Plus, for cyclists, your smartwatch and phone can be automatically linked when you start a workout, allowing you to view real-time data in the app.
Firmware 4.3.0.588 brings four new workout modes for basketball, football, padel and e-sports, and daily suggested workouts based on your favourite types of exercise, calories and the weather. Another addition is the ability to decline calls from apps like WhatsApp and Messenger, and some unnamed health and fitness metrics are said to be more accurate. Huawei has also refreshed the user interface for apps, including Workout, Activity Tracking, Sleep, Heart Rate, Breathing Exercises, and Stay Fit.
The Huawei Watch 4 Pro firmware version 4.3.0.588 update has been reported by users in Germany; it is unclear when this release will be shared with all users. When it is available, users can install the update through the Huawei Health app, from the device details page, or on the watch by going to Settings > System & updates > Software updates > Check for updates. Whether or when HarmonyOS 5 will roll out to the Watch 4 Pro (curr. €296 at Amazon DE) remains to be seen.
