Oppo has officially confirmed the launch date for its next smartwatch. Arriving on April 10, the Watch X2 Mini will arrive as a smaller alternative to the existing Oppo Watch X2. While the former's case size is still unconfirmed, the Watch X2 Mini is expected to clock in at 42 mm like the Apple Watch Series 10 (curr. $299 on Amazon).
Oppo has confirmed that the Watch X2 Mini will launch in three styles too, photos of which we have embedded below. As those images show, the ornate option that Oppo revealed last week will be joined by more simple black and silver variants with what appear to be fluoroelastomer bands. All variants will feature the same underlying hardware though, which includes two hardware buttons and a circular display.
According to Abhishek Yadav, the latter is a 60 Hz AMOLED panel that supports variable refresh rates via an LTPO backplane and up to 2,200 nits peak brightness. Allegedly, the Watch X2 Mini also contains a Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset and a BES2800 low-power chipset to achieve up to 3 days battery life or 8 days with power saving mode activated. These chipsets will provide a Wear OS and RTOS hybrid operating system experience too, much like Mobvoi's TicWatch smartwatch series.
Furthermore, the Watch X2 Mini is expected to ship with 32 GB of storage, 2 GB of RAM and the usual assortment of health monitoring sensors. Yadav adds that the smartwatch will be 5 ATM water resistant and IP68 certified as well. International availability remains unknown for the time being, though.
