OnePlus Open 2: Premium foldable reportedly canceled yet again

OnePlus launched the OnePlus Open globally back in late 2023. While fans expected a successor, OnePlus confirmed that it had no plans of releasing a OnePlus Open 2 in 2025. Apparently, the same may hold true for 2026.

Reports in recent weeks have revealed potential features of Oppo's upcoming Find N6 foldable. Seeing as OnePlus typically repurposes Oppo models for the global market, some may have expected the OnePlus Open 2 to be a rebadge of the Find N6. According to leaker Yogesh Brar, however, it appears the OnePlus Open 2 has been canceled and is now unlikely to debut.

While the leaker doesn't provide further information on why the Open 2 has been canceled, it's likely down to Oppo already planning a global release for the Find N6. A global version of the Find N5 was released last year and it's likely the Find N6 gets a similar treatment, summarily making the OnePlus Open 2 an exercise in redundancy.

Unfortunately, the OnePlus Open 2 may not be the only device from the company's stables to be shelved, with the OnePlus 15s now claimed to have a 90% chance of also being canceled. Last year's OnePlus 13s debuted in India as a slight rebadge of the Chinese-market OnePlus 13T. Reports from China indicate the OnePlus 15T will debut in a matter of months but it appears the Indian market may not get an equivalent device this time.
