As reported yesterday, OnePlus 13 is now available for a price of $899.99, including a free OnePlus Watch 2 ($249.99 at Amazon) or OnePlus Buds Pro 3. Featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite, three 50 MP cameras with Hasselblad branding, IP69 certification, a 4,500 nits AMOLED display and a 6,000 mAh battery, the smartphone offers a decent price-performance ratio.
OnePlus has now confirmed that the OnePlus 13 will receive four major Android updates, i.e., up to and including Android 19. Security patches will be rolled out for at least six years as opposed to the five years for the OnePlus 12. This puts OnePlus behind some of its competitors such as the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and the Google Pixel 9 Pro, which are both expected to receive seven major Android updates and seven years of security patches, and Apple iPhones are also generally supplied with OS updates for more than four years.
While the OnePlus 13 does not support Qi2, the smartphone can be charged with up to 50 watts using a magnetic charger in conjunction with a special magnetic case and the recently unveiled OnePlus AirVOOC 50W wireless charger. A full charge is estimated to take 75 minutes. While the charger can also charge an Apple iPhone, the absence of Qi2 means that OnePlus 13 users cannot use MagSafe or Qi2 chargers or third-party magnetic accessories. The magnetic case and charger together cost just under $75.
