One of the most exciting camera flagships of the year is ready as official Robot Phone launch date and press images show

Xiaomi with Leica, Oppo and Hasselblad plus Vivo and Zeiss are probably the best-known partnerships between traditional camera manufacturers and Chinese smartphone brands. Honor’s new collaboration with famed cinema camera manufacturer Arri is less of a household name for consumers. However, this might change once their first product actually lands in people's hands.
Although Honor has shown various prototypes of the Robot Phone at trade shows for almost a year now, the exciting camera phone with a real gimbal attached to it has not yet been made available, even in China - until now. Today, on July 16, Honor CEO Li Jian posted on Weibo that the Honor Phone is finally ready to be launched. He also shared a teaser poster for the official launch, which will take place in Shanghai on July 18, 2026.

Official renders and exciting camera specs
The teaser poster also offers our first official look at the now-final press images, including a close-up view of the Robot Phone’s triple-camera setup. The 4D gimbal-stabilized main camera features a 23mm lens with an f/1.6 aperture and a 200-megapixel sensor. Usually very reliable leaker Digital Chat Station has recently mentioned additional specs. According to him, Honor will pair the 200-megapixel main camera with another 200-megapixel periscope telephoto and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. This collaboration with Arri on the Robot Phone may also offer a glimpse into the innovations the Honor Magic 9 series will bring starting this fall, though the Robot Phone is expected to be quite expensive. Official availability is expected in August, though it’s not yet known when the Honor Robot Phone will arrive in markets outside China. Honor may use IFA in Berlin for a global launch, but that’s just our speculation at this point.
