One UI 4.0 beta delayed till October over bug concerns with stable Android 12 potentially set for late December release
Samsung is set to release the next iteration of its smartphone software skin, in the form of One UI 4.0. One UI 4.0 will bring Android 12 along with it but it appears that owners of Samsung Galaxy devices still have quite the wait on their hand till that's a reality.
Going by word on the grapevine, Samsung has once again postponed the rollout of the One UI 4.0 beta. Initial reports indicated a September release, starting with the Galaxy S21 series, but that will no longer be the case. The One UI 4.0 beta has supposedly been postponed, with Samsung choosing to spend some more time on bug-fixing instead. It looks likely that the beta will finally start rolling out in October.
Of course, a delay with the beta also carries over to the release of the stable version. Although it's currently unknown when Samsung will start rolling out the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update to the public, speculation leans towards December at the moment. The One UI 3.0 beta rollout began in mid-September last year, with S20 units getting the stable build by early December. If that timeline holds, Galaxy S21 owners may have to wait until late December or early January for the stable One UI 4.0 and Android 12 update.
