OPPO's new smartwatch is confirmed to echo Apple's in its design
OPPO announced its plan to release its first smartwatch at its Inno Day event in 2019. Now, the OEM's vice president, Shen Yiren, has teased this upcoming device on social media, revealing its looks and some other details about it. However, those interested in this category of electronics, particularly their design, will not find many surprises here.
These official leaks show a wearable - to be called the OPPO Watch - with a face that is, like that of the Amazfit GTS and Xiaomi Mi Watch before it, quite reminiscent of the Apple Watch. Shen has also noted that his OEM's take on this design will have "3D glass", though whether this refers to its screen or its interface is less definite at this point.
This teaser shows that the OPPO Watch will have a black strap, possibly made of leather, that appears to be removable. However, an earlier image of the same device shows it with a gold case and a matching band that appears fixed to it. This slight confusion may be cleared up at the smartwatch's launch, which, as with the rest of the products forecast at the Inno Day, are slated for an early 2020 release.
