ONEXPLAYER ONEXGPU with AMD Radeon GPU teased as 'game-changer for graphics card expansion'
One-Netbook has begun teasing the ONEXGPU, an eGPU accessory for its ONEXPLAYER gaming handhelds. According to the company, its first attempt at an eGPU will be based around the Radeon RX 7600M XT, a mid-range solution that is nearly a year old. Seemingly, the graphics card cannot be replaced, unlike larger solutions like the Razer Core X Chroma.
As such, the ONEXGPU will be stuck with a Navi 33 GPU that has 32 Compute Units (CUs), 4,096 Stream Processors, and a 2,300 MHz game clock. Additionally, the Radeon RX 7600M XT has 8 GB of GDDR6 VRAM running at 18 Gbps with a 288 GB/s bandwidth and a 75 W-120 W TGP. Incidentally, the Radeon RX 7600M XT can already be found in eGPU form through the GPD G1, which launched over the summer for US$655 on Indiegogo.
For context, the GPD G1 features Oculink (SFF-8612) and USB4 connectivity, among other ports. By contrast, it appears that the ONEXGPU will only offer the latter, as well as several USB Type-A ports for connecting accessories. Unfortunately, One-Netbook has not provided any concrete details yet. For now, the company is looking to its fans to 'gather information about the different usage scenarios for ONEXGPU', which you can submit on a dedicated Google Forms survey.
