AAEON, a prominent name in the embedded computing industry, has introduced the GENE-ADN6. At the core, it's a 3.5-inch board that packs a punch.
The board is available in five different SKUs. They range from the efficient 6-watt Intel N50 processor model to the performance-focused Intel Core i3-N305 CPU.
When it comes to the external I/O, the AAEON GENE-ADN6 comes with two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports. The internal connectors, on the other hand, offer versatile options for different ARM applications. These connectors include four COM pin headers.
Among these four, there are two with support for RS-232/422/485 interfaces, 8-bit GPIO, and SMBus. They also provide the option for up to four additional USB 2.0 connectors.
In addition, the AAEON GENE-ADN6's interfaces are bolstered by DDR5 memory. This memory support is designed to enhance data processing speed. The board also features TPM 2.0, which offers extra data security.
AAEON highlights that the GENE-ADN6 is suitable for multi-camera machine vision setups. The board gains this for having three LAN ports powered by Intel I226 Ethernet at 2.5GbE.
Furthermore, the GENE-ADN6 is equipped with an internal LVDS connector that is paired with the VGA and HDMI 1.4 ports. Thanks to this, the board can offer video output to three different displays at the same time.
However, the most remarkable feature of the AAEON GENE-ADN6 is its resilience in harsh environments. The GENE-ADN6W2-A10-0002, in particular, can operate reliably in a wide temperature range, from -40° C (-40° F) to 85° C (185° F). Additionally, it is capable of accepting power inputs ranging from 9 volts to 36 volts.
Besides, every AAEON GENE-ADN6 models have expansion capabilities, featuring M.2 3052 B-Key and M.2 2230 E-Key slots. Regarding storage, the boards are equipped with a SATA HDD bay and an mSATA slot. All of these make the board perfect for industrial automation.
