It has been alleged that Nvidia wants to be recognized for all the work it has purportedly put in on the Nintendo Switch 2. Along with likely sporting a custom Tegra SoC from Team Green, believed to be in the shape of the T239 chip, it seems the Switch 2 can also count on some limited DLSS 3.5 support to help it compete with the PS5 and Xbox Series X.

A couple of leakers have been discussing the Nintendo Switch 2 recently, with both sources focusing on the expected input from Nvidia. The original Nintendo Switch came with an Nvidia Tegra X1 processor that was later upgraded to the X1+ for the 2019 model revision. It is widely believed that Nvidia will also be supplying a custom chip for the Switch 2, with the Tegra T239 “Drake” part currently being the likely contender. With Nvidia providing the vital CPU/GPU work for the next-gen console and apparently granting it with some of its current cutting-edge gaming technology, it would be no surprise to see the company’s name featuring prominently on the console or packaging.

According to Nash Weedle, who is considered a rather hit-and-miss tipster, Nvidia wants to be “part of the presentation” for the Nintendo Switch 2 and “even have the Nvidia brand appear on the box”. This is actually quite believable, as Nintendo used to allow some subtle ATI sticker promotion on consoles such as the GameCube. Nvidia could be promoted either by use of a "Graphics by" sticker or mentioned in the console label, although it’s unclear whether Team Green would get its name on the actual hardware itself or just the box at this moment.

Another more respected source, Nate the Hate, has been discussing expectations and rumors about the Switch 2, and he believes that Nvidia’s DLSS 3.5 will be along for the ride. However, it appears it may not be fully utilized, with the Nintendo Switch 2 enjoying the benefits of ray reconstruction for enhanced ray-tracing effects in games but possibly not supporting frame-generation technology. Despite this, it is considered that the next-generation Switch might still be able to hold its own in terms of graphics performance with Sony’s PlayStation 5 and Microsoft’s Xbox Series X|S in some optimized titles.
