The Nothing Phone (2a) may be one of the most interesting-looking Android smartphones in the ~$500 bracket, even with limited color options. However, a new one might be on the horizon with an imminent release. However, this "New Edition" event comes with some caveats.

The Phone (2a) is its brand's inaugural budget option, and as such is currently lying in wait for the Pixel 8a on Amazon starting at $439.50. Despite that, it adheres to the same Nothing minimalist ethic as its flagship sibling in traditional Black or Milk (white) colorways - but not for long.

Nothing has announced that it has a "new" Phone (2a) ready to hit the market. It is unlikely to be the Community Edition, however, as it is slated to launch in just 2 days from today (April 27, 2024).

Given that it is portrayed as still having the same pattern of cosmetic ribbon connectors, Glyph lighting and (non-functional) square red accent visible through a plastic rear panel, it might simply have a new colorway instead: one to match the heretofore-exclusive third colorway of the new Ear (a) TWS buds, perhaps.

Unfortunately, not everyone will have the chance to find out in person, as the "New Edition" is a "Designed for India" variant set to be unleashed as a Flipkart Unique product on its impending launch day.
