New four-wheel drive Segway Navimow robotic lawn mower on the way

A new Segway Navimow X4 robot lawn mower has been unveiled. Currently available to pre-order in the US and on the way to Europe, these products are said to be designed for private green areas measuring up to 5,000 m² (1.5 acres).
Like the recently launched Navimow i2 AWD, the Navimow X4 uses the brand’s Xero-Turn all wheel drive system, which enables the robot to turn on the spot without damaging your lawn. This technology also helps the mower tackle particularly steep slopes of up to 84% (40°). Plus, there is a Traction Control System (TCS), which adjusts torque when the robot encounters low-grip surfaces.
The Navimow X4 is a particularly powerful model, thanks to Segway’s MowMentum cutting system. This combines two cutting discs with twelve reinforced blades and two 180W motors, which the company suggests ensures clean cuts and edges, even with tall, dense or coarse grass. The robot uses tri-frequency Network RTK alongside 360° VSLAM and visual inertial odometry (VIO) technology to navigate your lawn. This provides centimetre-level accuracy, with the robot covering up to 2,000m² (0.5 acres) in eight hours. Other features of this model include an IP66 weatherproof rating, support for Apple Find My and compatibility with Google Home and Amazon Alexa.
In the US, you can now pre-order the Navimow X430 robot mower for an area of up to 3,000 m² for $2,499, and the X450 for larger spaces measuring up to 5,000 m² retails for $2,999. Segway will release the Navimow X4 series robot mowers in Europe on March 31st. Here, customers will be able to choose between three options. These are the X420 for an up to 2,000 m² area (RRP €2,499), the X430 (RRP €2,799) and the X450 (RRP €3,199). The products will be sold via the brand’s online store, its Amazon storefront and specialist retailers.
