New Umidigi flagship on the cards - 8GB RAM, curved screen, Helio P30
UMIDIGI, previously known as Umi, have had some success breaking into the high-end market, with their Z and Z Pro flagships attaining critical acclaim. News reaching us from UMIDIGI has teased another device, one which will eclipse anything the company has ever released.
The device, still unnamed, will "combine all the unique features of the previous successful models" in an attempt to build on their recent successes.
8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a 5.7" 18:9 bezel-less screen form the base specifications of a device that's expected to position itself as a flagship killer. It will carry quad cameras, with a 16MP primary rear camera, and a 13MP main shooter at the front. The device will also feature an ultra-wide curved screen, curved back, and NFC.
Most intriguing, perhaps, is the included SoC—MediaTek's Helio P30—which is still yet to be announced. This chipset is expected to be MediaTek's response to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 660, a mid-range processor that doesn't lose out to recent flagship entries. The P30 is said to utilize a 12nm manufacturing process—which guarantees efficient power consumption, and will support UFS 2.0 and LPDDR4.
Prices and release dates are unknown at the moment but this one may be worth watching out for.
