The Galaxy A57 has taken another step closer to replacing the Galaxy A56 (curr. $369.99 on Amazon) after being rumoured for the best part of a year. This time, the unreleased mid-range smartphone has been spotted on the TENAA in China. Although the device's design remains a mystery for now, the TENAA has teased a few specifications ahead of time.
For instance, the regulatory body mentions the inclusion of a 6.6-inch and 1080p display set within a housing measuring 161.5 x 76.8 x 6.9 mm. Moreover, the TENAA mentions a weight of 182 g, which would see the Galaxy A57 being thinner, lighter, narrower and shorter than its predecessor. Nonetheless, a 4,905 mAh rated battery capacity indicates that Samsung will continue to install a 5,000 mAh battery.
The same 50 MP primary, 12 MP ultra-wide, 12 MP front-facing and 5 MP macro cameras appear set to return, though. Also, the TENAA suggests that Samsung will only offer the Galaxy A57 with 256 GB of storage and 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM. Based on recent leaks, Samsung will complement these memory configurations with the new Exynos 1680 chipset, which it has not officially introduced yet either. Currently, Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy A57 in February alongside other cheaper Galaxy A series smartphones.
